Speaking as someone who left Booz to join a different strategy consulting firm, and having spoken with many others, I can say the Booz WCB morale is most definitely significantly worse than at other leading strategy consulting firms at the moment.
It's not just a NYC office problem either. Other offices, even those that in past times were seen as having the best culture, have poor morale also.

I'm assuming you're at Mercer now? If so, we have very different definitions of "morale" -- I know 3 people from undergrad at Mercer, and they tell me morale there is horrible and that the firm is taking a nose-dive (they're getting out and going for their MBA).
Meanwhile, Booz is way above plan and is quickly growing most of its industry and functional practices (esp energy, transportation, and media).
