In Reply To: I was at Booz for a little short of 2 years and left about a month ago. I came from ACN having done lots of training, development, teesting and BPR in the context of System Development work. I was told at my interview with Booz that I would get a little more of the strategy and org design work in OCT and that is why I came to Booz. My ACN experience was meaningful because I feel I learned so much about the work I was doing and picked up tons of transferrable skills. The bar for work quality at ACN is set so much higher that you cannot compare. As for the type fo work that ACN did, please see my posting on Booznian Tragedy. Booz does a lot of meaningless work just to bring in the dollars and get more business. For example, I was on a BPR project where we were there to map whatever the client said; no if's, and's or butt's...I felt like a highly paid admin! As for work/life, I hated Booz because people really took advantage of the culture there and it always fell on the one who stayed late after everyone else had "soft ball practice" and "kids to pickup" to carry the team's work. I never felt like I was on a team! I never felt like anyone was teaching me anything more than what I came in with... That said, I would never consider going back to TB.
Message: since you are so great and picking up everyone else's load why didn't you move over to WCB so that you could work with a bunch of people who have no balance and spend 15 hours per day working ?
