Can't speak to TB, but in terms of culture and people, CB is highly intellectual, hard-working, and creative. I don't mind working long hours when I know everyone else around me is too. CB has a strong meritocracy -- ie, up-or-out policy. But it's fair and transparent. People who are counseled out are rarely surprised. We have a strong 360-deg feedback and mentoring system supporting all this.
Pay is great. Starting associates get a $20k signing bonus, $110-115k base, 20-30% perf bonus, and 12-13% 401k contribution. Former summer hires get their 2nd year of bschool paid for!
If and when I leave, I look forward to leveraging a strong alumni network for fantastic exit opps. |

Boozer2006 - is what the other threads say true - is there a chance that you can accept a position on the CB side and end up working in TB?
I have a couple of advanced degrees (one of which is technical) and would hate to get bounced into TB after accepting a position in CB.
Also, my understanding is that only Sr. Associates get bonuses - (signing and performance) does that only apply on the TB side?
