In Reply To: It only makes sense if upon separation from the Navy, or after your graduation from your MBA program, you want to work for a defense contractor with contracts in Afghanistan or Iraq. If not, it won't matter much. With USNA, TS/SCI, and experience in the intel field, I am sure you will have several competing offers from defense contractors to choose from, if this is the path you decide to pursue. However, the offers may be for outsourced intel support from the intelligence community, then real consulting work where your MBA would be applicable. Your probably familiar with these jobs already from contractors who probably work at your site. The other danger is that the contractor may offer you the job contingent upon you going to Afghanistan/Iraq several times a year or over an extended period of time, in which case there would be a definite jump in salary.
Message: I had a feeling that was the case. I also had a feeling that my MBA won't be used to much if I choose to stay in the DoD contracting world. Thanks for the advice.
