In Reply To: Hi there I am a junior mech engineering major at a top ranking state university. BHA is a place where I am very interested in looking into career opportunities. My only issue is that I am a permenant resident(have been for years). I will be eligible for citizenship immediately following graduation. my question is whether BHA will consider my situation when applying next year, or need I not even bother applying. Ive been told that citizenship is a huge factor or rather a necessity for entry level employment. Another question I had pertains to career opportunities. Would someone like myself be at a disadvantage at BAH even after acquiring a US citizenship because of not being natural born citizens. By disadvantage, I mean being promoted or being givin more responsibilities in the defence sector. thank you in advance for your responses...
Message: Booz Allen in the U.S. hires lots of people who are not U.S. citizens. However, to succeed long-term in defense (that's how we spell it here) you have to be a U.S. citizen. Moreover, to have access to classified work, you have to be "clearable". It is difficult to achieve this status if you hold dual citizenship or if you maintain strong ties and allegiances to another country. Just a practical issue.
