now focused on radio and tv programming and are committed to do whatever it takes to increase viewership and ratings...at least according to those who gather with winkler on Fri Am's to discuss this very same topic |

As long as Winkler and Kohn are in charge viewership will NEVER increase. Winkler and Kohn don't know a damn thing about broadcasting and don't have a clue on who they should hire to program tv and radio to better ratings.
From the scragly looking Managing Editor (who barely graduated from HIGH SCHOOL) on down Winkler and Kohn are surrounded by Yes-Men. If you really know who goes to that Friday morning meeting, then you'll know they have only few goals in mind as they gather: either to keep chairman Matt from blowing his stack, or if chairman Matt has remembered to take his medication - then maybe to get a nice pat on the head for some inane thing that Matt liked seeing on tv or hearing on radio. They don't go into that meeting to come up with anything that's going to make for better ratings.
And look at the talent pool on television. Only a few good people there: Hays, Schaffler, Sullivan, McKee, and Schneider. Most of the rest of the anchor staff, if you can believe this, spends time with a coach to polish their presentations. You either have it or you don't. So most don't have it who are on BTV. That's in stark contrast to veterans on CNBC and Fox like Cavuto, Insana, Griffeth, Haynes, Mack, Bartiromo, etc.
Did you know that one of the people who runs radio was previously the station's technical engineer with no background in journalism?? He looks so young that he recently grew a beard to try to gain some gravitas. He has no shame and 'manages' some people who got into the business 15 years before he was BORN.
Sorry rca123, with inept, yes-men leading - no matter how hard they 'try', they'll never be able to come up with a product worth listening to or watching.
