I was just offered a job as a C++ programmer at BBG yesterday. I was considering accepting it. They told me they never layoff people and the compensation is good compared to the average market compensation for the experience level like mine.
Most of the comments here about the working experience in BBG are BAD --- I was scared -- I wonder if there are any teams which are good to work for!
Can anyone come up with some manager names or team names so that I can choose after I got into BBG? I was told I can have my choice of team and projects after initial training. I do not care about working hard but I do care about my future career growth!
By the way, I was supposed to stay in Princeton, NJ but I think I can make it to NY if I wanted.

your choices are limited if you stay in princeton. You don't get to choose your lead and even if you did, that changes quite often.
There are upwrards of 2000 developers, so it is true that you have a lot of potential places to wind up. If you want NY then go there from the get go. Internal Systems under Vipul N. is supposed to be a great environment because they deal with a lot BB internal development AND 3rd party apps (SAP, Peoplesoft, etc.)
