I would like to know about the Equity Resercher postion in US.
Because there is only simple description about that in Bloomberg career website.
Please give me some tips. |

you'll be nothing more than a glorified data monkey entering data all day. Actually more like, cut and paste in this new application called BDAP. Company filings go through that sofware and certain information gets tagged and pasted into Excel. Your job is to make sure that the sofware does it properly and fix the errors on the spot before you submit it. You'll work with 'Equity', you'll do 'research', and to some extend 'analysis' but if you go out into the real world later and and try to sell yourself as an "Equity Research Anaylist", they'll laugh in your face.
By the way, your job will be volume oriented. The more you can cut and paste in a day, the better employee you are. You'll be also 'encouraged' to stay overtime for free because going 'above and beyond' will look good at your review. Also, you might have to jump in to help out with earnings during the earning season, which is writting short news stories and posting them on the new functon and reply to / monitor ADSK bucket (customer gripes)
If that sounds like an exciting new career to you, go for it and don't forget chapstick 'cause you'll be doing a lot of ass kissing as well if you want to get ahead.
