Hey,
I had the phone interview yesterday. I am applying for the position of Fin. Soft. Dev.
I don't think that I performed well.
Despite my effort to get ready for the questions on C (I read a complete book on C in 5 days...f%$#% exhausted), it was difficult for me to give a straight and clear answer since I did not get the time to "digest" the info.
Anyway, the panels made an effort to move to another field : physics (the field of my PhD). Obviously, I did well for that. At the end, they asked if I have any questions. And they spent 5 min answering all my questions. The questions were about the prog language they usually use for new products, if they plan to move to another language, educational/cultural bckgrd of the employees of the R&D Department.
Then they ended up the interview by some nice words on my good english (it's my 2nd language).
However, I don't think I will make it to the 2nd round...because of the lack of knowledge for C. They told me that even if you start the training, it is expected a basic knowledge of C.
The overall interview lasted 30 minutes (initially planned for 45 minutes).
That's all.
PS: even though I am not confident with the output of the interview, I continue to learn C ... can't hurt! |

jmb22, I was wondering if you could shed some light on what technical questions you were asked? Were they in C/C++? Did they ask any financial questions?
