i work in data, and am already thinking ahead how to move out-- i didn't even join that long ago, but i did join for the same reasons as you. my recommendation is if u need work, do it, and move out in 1-2 yrs time max. i do hope the rest of the financial sector will be acceptant of the BB work experience. not sure though. |

You would be better served by taking a more menial role (and low paid) at an IB. Anything! Junior reconciliations clerk or some other low status back office role. Something a degree-less person can do.
If you believe you have what it takes to shine you will. Always put your hand up for any task no-one else wants to do and impress your masters and their masters and rise throught he ranks.
Your experience will then be more relevant to where you want to be.
Be aware BBG has huge accumulated intellectual capital in squeezing every moment out of your day s.t. you wont have time to look for a new job.
If you think Henry Ford was good at time and motion, buh buh baby you ain't seen nothing yet.
If you want instant gratification and empty calories instead, then welcome welcome to our pleasuredome.
