In Reply To: i was invited to the recruiting event that Bloomberg has, because of the strike I couldn't make it. So instead I am going to have a phone interview. I have few question for you if you could answer me: First, I am actually curious what kind of interview will I have specially that I don't know what position they will interview me for, what kind of question could I have? Second what kind of position does Bloomber have for a person with an MBA? Third I heard that NY office is fun place to work in but I read the comments that you all said I am little conserned?? is it a nightmare in Princeton???
Message: There are different kind of jobs at Bloomberg. Data (Finance, Economics, Statistics, or any other fancy name) is pure data entry from paper to screen, R&D is kind of a battle to produce contemporary tools with the oldest tools. If they hire you for Sales position, after spending 2-3 years, you can move to your clients' companies. This is what Sales people do, they move to real finance companies. BLOMBERG IS A MEDIA COMPANY, and they broadcast financial data. Noone cares about your MBA there. Just to hire you they will try to show that the job is very important requiring an MBA. If you ask me, even the most basic accounting jobs require better skills and might pay much better than Bloomberg.
