Folks, anyone had to interview with Matt Winkler? What's that process like? Are there "no go" topics? Am assuming that mtg with him is a pro forma affair and that he simply signs off. That right? Or does he exercise his hiring veto power?

Hardly pro forma. BBG mgmt, especially Winkler, are always looking for opportunities to exercise their power (veto and otherwise). Read "Bloomberg by Bloomberg", co-authored by Winkler. In there he has an anecdote about one of his interviews. It might be unlike any interview you've ever had. If you know your stuff, you'll probably be fine, although you may not feel that way coming out of the interview.
