In Reply To: ....hey, has anyone worked on a proposal?...worked on the powerpoint storyboard...devoted hours to conference calls...also meeting with the proposal team...and then in front of the client...and had to bury your hours in existing contracts with the promise that the T&E amounts would be transferred into the new gig if/when won?
Message: re: my title -- sorry, I thought it was funny that you asked... yeah, that behaviour is just wrong. anytime you get started on a proposal or any other kind of business development effort, ask for the charge code to bill to. these efforts need to be tracked under a BD charge code so we can tell how much time/money goes into BD; larger proposals will have their own charge codes while smaller efforts will fall under MD/sector codes. and if someone tries to get you to hide it, it's your responsibility to report it up the chain.
