And now I'm at $55K. Which is a 12% increase, which is good. But compared to some of my research, sounds a bit low for a Consultant.

Not sure how much experience you have, but I left BP at 56K and managed to get an offer for 67K at my new job + 5K sign on bonus
Get your resume together and get a new job...
