BE has Jr and Sr Associates, yet they are hourly (generally very specialized/skilled technical types) employees that BE brings in as an alternative to 1099 or subcontracting them.
Nothing related to the partnership or management model BAH uses the title for. |

Thanks, this helps a lot. As a general rule, BAH hires undergrads as Consultants and then promotes those people to Sr. Consultants after approx. 2 years. Then, they are promoted to Associate after another 2-4 years. Once people earn a graduate degree, they are often brought in as an Associate, but many newly minted MA/MBAs are screwed over (on the public side) and made Sr. Consultants; which causes them to have to "pay their dues" for an ADDITIONAL 2ish years before they can be promoted to Associate. (It kind of sucks because you would think if they had been a little bit tougher during negotiations they could have come in as Associates and spent that time trying to get promoted to Sr. Associate, which is the level that is generally considered "senior.") Is there an equivalent dynamic at BearingPoint?
