That's not what I wanted to hear. I knew it to be the truth, but not what I wanted to hear. There is a 90/10 rule with Gov't workers. 10% actually do stuff and give a rats ass and the other 90% check websites and chit chat about nothing all day (that is when they are not walking around, sleeping or taking a smoke break). I think I mentioned the word ambition in the office the other week and all cubes became instantly quiet. I was told no one wanted to hear that word around here ever again. |

Except that sometimes if you have downtime, dependent ofcourse on the type of activities that your tasked with, then you really can't help it too much now can you?
I am also quite surprised how you as an IT guy ended up in an Accounting capacity on an engagement. It's totally nonbeneficial to both you as well as BE. BE may not be able to get the bill rate they typically will for you while you, on the other hand, will not gain anything to build your resume from this.
Just another odd man out example of how BE is occasionally mis-managing its resources and consequently from the revenue standpoint, taking it up the ass.
