In Reply To: Did you get hired in at the right level? Maybe they thought more of you and brought you in as a Consultant rather than a more appropriate MA/SMA.. ? How much are you making? If you are a consultant making $80k, then be happy. What have your reviews been like? Spend any time on the bench? Are the projects you work on successful?
Message: Yes I got hired in at the right level. Somebody coming into BE with 6-7 years experience getting hired in as an MA or Sr MA makes no sense whatsoever! I am making 62k as a Consultant with no raises these past 2 years....And just in case you wanna chime in with the whole 3% raise where 1.5% is this year and then the next 1.5% next year, you've gotta be kidding me to tell me that's all I am worth! I might as well as tell them what I think in that case but I am a little too nice to do that. Heck, even HR agrees with my stance but they are saying that MD has got to approve it. My reviews have been ME at the minimum with EE's along the way. I have spent maybe all of January 2005 on the bench when I rolled off from my last engagement at the end of last year (2004). At the end of January, I joined Public Services and have been their ever since and have endured 3 changes in my PM. Let me tell you, I know someone who just joined in early 2005 who on their EOY 05 review got an SE but NO RAISE or PROMOTION! Clearly this company is cheap and has no heart for it's employee faithful and so it's no wonder people attrite like they are. I'd hate to be one of them but will not hesitate if I am not getting anything.
