In Reply To: nope, you arent being lowballed, im a consultant and I make a hell of a lot less than that. in the last staff meeting staff asked the MD to discuss the "ranges" for each level so we would know if we were being fairly paid, and he said that he couldnt, that there really werent any ranges, and it depended on what engagements you worked on. is that bs?
Message: That's BS. My PM has told me that the ranges exist, but they're not made public. SMAs are in a fairly similar range to Consultants, but I think there's a little more upside range on the Consultant pay scale. As an SMA, I received two raises over 5% before being promoted to Consultant and receiving a 10% bump. The range is there, but you have to be aggressive and vocal prior to the review period. Set your expectations with your PM and MD. You might not get everything you're asking for, but you'll get more than if you said nothing.
