I know somebody who was interviewed by BE and everything was positive and he was excited.But when the H-1 issue came up BE went mute and did not get back at all.

BearingPoint is probably one of the most welcoming big-4 consuling firms when it comes to sponsoring H1Bs. Some teams consist primarily of H1Bs and GCs folks. However, the cap is reached this year and BearingPoint has no way of sponsoring anyone before Oct 1st 2006 when new H1Bs become available.
As far as I remember a H1B employee must be with the firm for one year before being cosidered for GC. A favorable performance review and a business need for that person is also required. I havent heard of any GC issues related to SEC filings or anyting else.
