In Reply To: BE is NOT flat at all. I don't know who told you that, but I used to work there and it is not true at all. It's very hierarchal (sp?). You go into a group and mostly work within that sector. I work for a different firm now that's very flat. We don't have that. You work on whatever your skills are right for. Not a specific industry/sector etc.
Message: I know someone that started there as a Consultant when it was KPMG in the late 90s. There were four levels between him and the PS Lead (Rand Blazer at that time). Five years later that person made managing director. That person had FIVE layers between him and the PS lead at that point. All of the good old boys gave themselves titles and grew the hierarchy, which is part of the reason they are failing today. Not a one of them had any prior corporate experience.
