In Reply To: Here are some (not good) reasons I think people are still staying. 1) People remember the 'good times' from a few years ago. When the company was actually FUN to work for. When you had good gigs and good people to work with. 2) People have this burning hope that the company will turn around. Just one more quarter the financials will be out and everything will be ok. People are really hoping that their next project will be a great project that they can do some good work. 3) People are scared. 3.1)Finding a new gig is hard and a lot of work. Especially if you are working away from home. 3.2) Some actually belive Harry's idle threat of 'it would be the worst thing for your carrer to leave'. 3.3) Leaving a gig that you know all the 'rules of the game' and jumping into something new is paralizing for people. 4) People know that they are not that great at what they do, so they are clutching onto BE for dear life. These people know if they leave BE they will get 1/2 of what they are making now. BEing_Sqrewed my heart goes out to you. These are all terrible reasons to stay. I left, and to be ohnest on my last day I was kinda sad. I had made some great friends there, and I knew I was going to miss them. I also was extremely dissapointed on how things had turned out at BE. All the hope I had there got crushed and the 'fun' was gone. Take it from me. Leaving BE was the best. Things are great. I have more time to persue hobbies and spend time at home. So post your resume on Monster and blast away. Don't worry about your HR seeing your resume posted. They can't fire you for looking for another job, and if they let you go. Well then looks like you just got a kick in the pants.
Message: You can expllicitly prevent certain companies from seeing your resume on Monster.com now. Not that I would now......I found out by reading up on new features on monster :-)
