Does anyone with salary negotiation experience with BE? Are they likely to do it? |

If you have skills your MD/practice needs, you have some room.
Get an accurate figure of what you are worth, for example, if you were to bail to another firm or (gasp!) go into a real job.
Then, present it to your manager (he might divert to you the MD...or offer to go to bat for you with the MD, which is good) and say what you think you are worth.
They won't show you the door for doing that; however, dont go in with "I got an offer for $120k and I want $120k"... Worst case, if you're at $80k, say you've found offers for $100k, but want to stay with the firm, and understand the firm's rate for what I do isnt $100k, but 90.. etc etc. I did that, and was it was honest (I was enjoying my job at the time), and it ended well.
Enjoy.
