When I recruit from Accenture I usually know i'm getting great candidates who can add immediate value to our business. I had eight years with Accenture before joining BE. In terms of 'migration'
Level - Best fit would be BE Mgr level ...don't accept anything less. If you are a strong player then getting to snr mgr may take 2yrs norm .. (esp. given you are effectively a new mgr level at ACN) ..at ACN to get from M1 to M4 (snr mgr) can take min. 3 yrs
Salary - I can't talk specifics because I don't know where you are ..BUT ..generally BE will pay better e.g. new mgr at ACN is about $95k package .. at BE if you have in demand skills then more like $110k (NOT $US - but I suspect the delta's would be about the same in US). For BE to succeed it needs great people ..
Things I like (and noticed when I switched):
- more entrepreneurial
- more pragmatic
- less dictatorial / hierachy bullshit
- more room to build your own business line
- more accountability for revenue and client relationship building at consultant level up
Things that I found challenging:
- less structure e.g. lack of account planning, practive development
- poor KX and Methods
- accounting issues hurt brand and create uncertainty for all stakeholders, including employees
- less theory, more practice
- less strategic, more tactical
- low $ in bank = low investment opportunities e.g. training cutbacks - getting better though
Overall - longer term is uncertain - but that goes for all companies today, short to medium - just a better place to be in general. Hope this helps and
good luck. |
