In Reply To: I'm glad if I can help in any way. I definitely know how difficult it is to get these interviews, let alone an offer. I'm still waiting to hear back from B of A, but regardless I plan to accept the offer from Bear Stearns. There are some alums from my school at Bear and I loved the whole feel of the firm. The people are great and thats what matters most for me. Just curious, but if you were to get the position would you take it? why/why not? Let me know how it turns out. Best of luck.
Message: yeah, i know what you mean, getting these interviews is not easy at all. I come from a non-core school so that did not help either. I love the bear culture, ive spent a few afternoons on the floor and really enjoyed it. I find out tomorrow about Merrill and if I had to choose it would be a very tough call. Merrill has a better training program from what i hear, and they have a much higher conversion rate of summer analyst to fulltime analyst (80% or something). But at bear if you are lucky enough to get a spot you can move up the ranks much quicker if you work hard. also you are given more responsibilty early on. I really like that because I am hungry and ambitious. If given both spots, It would be a very very difficult decision..
