Should people believe the universal bank hype? Assuming an analyst position is not a career, and even further, that your only as good as your exit ops upon analyst graduation. How valuable is an analyst position within a regional office? What type of credibility does a program like this have? Can someone comment on the movement of analysts upon graduation into either botiques, pe or top mba programs (are the previous two options unlikely ?)... |

(1) Universal Bank Hype
Check out Euromoney Feb issue for their periodic poll of the status/ranking of "universal" banks.
I work for a "universal" bank (not BofA though).
I have seen us bring up a range of resources that an MS or a GS simply cannot - particularly in the international field. Of course this occurs in certain situations not all. So, yes, there is something to the universal bank "hype".
(2) Choice of Locations
Unless you have other compelling life goals, it's wise to work in the main frame office and the main frame market. At least to earn your spurs.
