Yea, I know what you mean. I need to do some research into the recruitment practices. Most firms dont have much info and they certainly don't break it down like you did.
So thanks!
My interest in PWM seems to be diminishing!
Do you work in PWM or used to? OR is this just stuff you know?
Thanks again,
clegg

(1) Your Question
Stuff I've picked up.
I work in an IB and as a matter of personal interest follow the financial services/finance industry.
Some people know a lot about football, others have different interests.
Also one's career is the most important investment decision that one will make and so it pays to understand where an industry or firm is going.
(2) My Question
(Designed to help you think about what you want to do).
In thinking about a career what are your goals?
What sort of life (work/non work balance) do you want?
What sort of personality are you? What gives you your jollies?
For example, in IB terms
you could be classified as a "trader" or an "investment banker"? A "bond guy" or a "equity guy" (risk preference and focus)?
