Differences as to my ability to land a position in either ECM or S&T with B of A (I'm in the Private Wealth Management are of a BB right now). Not so much interested in the Skull & Bones at this point, or it's corporate equivalent, Goldman Sachs. Thanks for the input. |

A couple of things to consider.
(1) National versus regional brands
Putting aside inherent quality for the moment, there is a tendency to judge schools by brand name. In that respect Wharton or Chicago are probably better brand names.
One of the things to consider is how a particular brand will play with your immediate target. For example, there is a tendency among some BB IB firms and some wannabees to primarily recruit from what are perceived as "select" schools and to give short shrift to candidates from other schools.
(2) Things change.
You should think of your career as the most important investment you will make. And just like your investment portfolio don't put all your eggs in one basket. BofA may be a fine place (I don't know as I am just visiting this MB). But things change. People change (including you).
So you want to position yourself for as wide as possible employment.
