In Reply To: Thank you PandaCH, I resurrected this thread, and you are still on the vault ;-). By the way, are you currently doing your MBA? If yes, can you just explain roughly what kind of "living stipend" you get? My offer is for the Paris office, but it seems you were not based very far from France ^^.
Message: hehe, not even close to mgr. level, that would be more like w. caroline. just trolling vault for a couple min. a day to shed some unpromising brain cells, and I guess give back a little to the online community - I first learned what consulting was about on vault way back in 00 or so... Pandas are cute, high-maintenance diva types. if the glove fits... i am indeed affiliated with a Bain Europe office, let's not get into the details of which one exactly, but the most generous bschool living allowance I know of is the one given by the German office, which was something like one year full salary, without bonus. if I remember correctly their b-school allowance has a cap and would not suffice for a standard 2 year MBA program. Not that matters since a lot of people there take the PhD route I believe. And if they do the MBA or PhD in Europe they get to keep their company car including gas paid by the company, which is worth another few grand... One consultant I met once had a porsche as company car :-) my office offers full MBA tuition plus around 30k EUR living expenses, plus health care. It _is_ better than what is standard in NAMS, and we serve only 2 years as ACs (no SAC level), go figure why... the living stipend thing gets paid out in monthly installments during the first 12 months of your MBA, you get docked some of it (the usual retirement/social deductions etc.) but it should still go a long way towards supporting you through school. again, for complete details ask HR. This is not a topic where there is any reason to shy away from... cheers
