In Reply To: Honestly Robert, you sound like an evangelical pastor gave you new life with tear wrenching sermon and now you are a changed man. What is so different about Bain compared to M/B other than the so-called 'result driven' BS (as if M/B don??t care about results) and its strong ties to PE? Of course you??ll see differences in culture/people/industry-focus in individual offices but other than that, M/B/B are all the same. McK has better brand name compared to B/B and Bain??s brand is getting more twinkle these days at the expense of BCG. Truthfully, you don??t have a chance. My buddies from Ivy League schools couldn??t get interviews with M/B/B. Go work for several years, and go to a top B school. You??ll have much better chance then.
Message: Tagh, I replied to your comments in the message titled "Thank You" but I'd also like to metion something I left out. The point, in my mind, is to work for a consulting firm now for the experience and training and later go to B school. I'll do this even if it means I have to work for an uber-bore-sounding-company like Accenture. After B school, it'll be time to focus on my own companies. I'm not doubting you but in the end I'll take my chances and see how things sort themselves out. Feel free to tell me anything more about you or your friends experiences.
