Well... in 1973 when Bill Bain was a top-3 guy at BCG and tried to convince BCG to be more results-oriented, they rejected the idea and Mr. Bain left.
Have BCG decided to reconsider that stance 32 years later? I don't know, but try this: go to bcg.com and do a search for "results". See how many hits you get. Then go to bain.com and do the same search. See how many hits you get.
While you're there, check out what BCG touts on their website, stuff like creating and sustaining competitive advantage. Then see what Bain talks about. This should provide an illustration of the difference between the two firms' approaches. And clients who have worked with both firms can detect these differences. |
