2005 Bonuses are a joke! |

In spite of repeated e-mails throughout 2005 indicating how many millions of dollars the firm had received, when it came time for bonuses we were all very disappointed.
Sure, bonuses are supposed to compensate work effort above and beyond normal responsibilities covered by salary. Nobody questions that concept.
However, it is extremelly deceptive to say that Analysts and Associates will be paid first out of the bonus pool if shortages in company financial performance prevent the bonus pool from raching its target and then go on to say that most Associates (post-MBA staffers) -- who do not have ANY direct responsibility for top or bottom-line figures -- will be paid an average of 65% of their maximum bonus. Even Associates with the highest possible overall ranking (probably one or two at most) will only get 80% of their maximum bonus.
Todd, please stop the deceptive monthly e-mails all-together! We are all very disappointed!!
