In Reply To: I am relocating the end of June to Los Angeles and am now full into my job search. I am interested in a mid or small boutique firm that has mainly entertainment, hospitality, tourism and event type clients (mainly "escapism/leisure" clients as I tend to call them). I now have just over 3 yrs experience in non-profit pr/marketing in Washington, DC but have been promoted many times and generally manage many of my own projects. I am looking for a great new challenge and am tired of the same old routine here. Any pointers would be great, company or people names, things I need to know that might be different or important to the area, and a salary range I would be looking at would be great. (I am now at mid-$30's, but keep in mind non-profits don't pay equivilant to agencies). I have done a lot of research and would love some input from other professionals outside the DC area. Thanks! Looking forward to your replies.
Message: Personally, I think you should stay where you're at for at least a few more months if you can bear it. The LA PR/marketing scene is extremely tight right now, as is the situation for most other markets, I suppose. There's not a lot out there right now. Regarding salaries, I would say that someone at your level could expect to earn the low 40s in non-profit PR.
