I have been searching this board looking for others who are interested in pursuing a phd in accounting. I am going that route myself. Actually I am currently studying for the GMAT because my current scores are too old. I have been working in the accounting field at a Senior Accountant level, and my last job was as a Financial Analyst. I have an undergrad in accounting and an MBA. I received some experience a couple of years ago teaching at the college level and I loved it. I also like the thought of having some flexibility in hours, workload, summers off if I want, and a great salary. My relationship with corporate america is not what it used to be. If you have any specific questions, let me know. I also have info on fellowships and such if you are a minority (Af. Amer. Hispanic, Native American) |

to see that someone else has the same view as me.
I probably would make more cash in industry - but, is the extra hours worth the extra cost??????
Right now I am soooooooo tired from working the hours that I'm working and not getting much out of it - I am only a second year accounting articling student and the wages aren't enought to compensate for the hours.
Flexibility and a good salary will definitely be great!!
