In Reply To: What do you all think about the idea of doing a PhD in accounting? Currently I am working in a big four accounting firm, but would like to pursue this option - I think it gives a more balanced life, and still a good salary. Does anyone have any insight they can provide into this? thanks
Message: I have been searching this board looking for others who are interested in pursuing a phd in accounting. I am going that route myself. Actually I am currently studying for the GMAT because my current scores are too old. I have been working in the accounting field at a Senior Accountant level, and my last job was as a Financial Analyst. I have an undergrad in accounting and an MBA. I received some experience a couple of years ago teaching at the college level and I loved it. I also like the thought of having some flexibility in hours, workload, summers off if I want, and a great salary. My relationship with corporate america is not what it used to be. If you have any specific questions, let me know. I also have info on fellowships and such if you are a minority (Af. Amer. Hispanic, Native American)
