to the more time with your family/participating in activities/etc.
While, the rigours of research and teaching may be demanding. I feel that I would be less stressed out than if I was pulling 60-70 hour weeks at the firm.
At the same time, The idea that you are able to set your own schedule and make a decent salary is appealing.

The lifestyle of a PHD(especially one woth a professiaonl focus) is very appealing. You still make a decent living but you make your hours and you have less stress/more time. I have a friend who has PHD in business ethics and policy..when he isn't teaching or researching, he is playing gigs with a band and running some ventures on the side..really cool lifestyle!
