In Reply To: I have a BA in Acctg., 3.0 overall average, and some Macc. classes under my belt. I've applied for entry level in public accounting with big 4 firms, but they haven't contacted me with a neither a /- ? I just found out that I conditioned for the CPA with one section (ARE) to retake in November (missed that one by a few points). What are the big 4 looking for in terms of grades, qualifications, experience? They all seemed impressed with the school I graduated from, it has a great reputation. I just want to get my feet wet and gain experience; not looking to making a lot of money (at least for now). =) Thanks in advance for your help!
Message: I felt fortunate to get hired at a big 5 (now 4) firm with a 3.5 GPA. Don't let the GPA go below 3.0 or you have no chance of getting a big 4 job. If you are willing to move to a different city to work you have a good shot at getting calls back from the recruiters. Be sure and let them know that you are willing to move.
