My suggestion about an MBA versus an accounting degree was meant to broaden the concept of working in accounting.
You do not have to be a public acocuntant to work in accounting. If you want to work in a corporation and serve the needs of management rather than work for a public accounting firm and serve the needs of the investing public you do not need a CPA or an accounting BA. What you do need is a strong analytical skills and a business education. Any undergraduate degree and an MBA will get you in the door of most corporations. I would look into companies where you have an interest in their core skills and values. That way what you do will contribute to something greater that you care about.

how does a Masters in Finance sit w/these choices?? I have a econ. degree from a top-tier school, but I haven't really any solid finance. I'm thinknig corporate finance..what I am doing right now will have almost no relation to corp.fin., so I know I need to "buy" my skill set through a masters of sorts.
i've heard nasty stuff about audit. (I interviewed at a Big 5 and the my interviewer could not have been more down on audit) any advice is especially appreciated.
