In Reply To: Aside from motivation, determination, and discipline to set aside time to study for the exams, do CPA prep course through Kaplan or Barron or online courses truly help? Or are CPA exam review books that you see on Amazon, BN, or Borders sufficient for those who have no background in accounting, business law, and economics?
Message: How can you take the exam without any background in accounting? You need an accounting degree and/or a certain amount of college accounting credits to sit for the test. As for review books, you'll need them if you're as green as you sound. Becker has been around forever. Everyone I know who has had the determination to complete all of the homework has passed on the first try.
