I started with a Big 5 firm about 8 months ago. Before beginning work, I passed the CPA exam on my own without any firm support.
My firm reimburses employees up to $1500 to take a CPA exam study course of their choosing. I believe that I should be entitled to a cash payout/bonus of the same amount. This request has been denied.
Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get what I feel I deserve for being a being a better student? |

just move on - making waves over 1,500 is not worth it, and will reflect poorly on you. There are recent hires with MBA's - should they be entitled to collect past tuition since the firm currently reimburses some staff pursuing an MBA? Of course not. Remember this "payout" is a perk subject to the whims (i.e. rules/policies) of the payor (the firm). If they were to decide that these CPA reimbursements should end, nothing could compel them to resume.
