Must you be an accounting major to be a position as an auditor or staff accountant in the Big Five? I am currently an economics major at NYU. I am interested in pursuing a career in financial services but I am also intersted in accounting as well. Unfortunately, I do not have enough electives to pursue a second major in accounting. Will I be considered for an auditing or assurance position come recruiting time (currently a junior)? |

I was interested in accounting too, I have a B.A in Economics. I registered w/temp agencies that place accounting professionals. I was hired as a clerk, the internal auditor got fired, I was awarded his job since I used to assist him. I suggest you register w/an agency & tell them you are interested in accounting. They can help you. good luck. I love accounting.
