Message: Hi, I graduated from college about 2 years ago with a major in Finance from a top-public business school. I did very well academically, but have now decided that I would like to go back and obtain a CPA. I work in Corporate Finance for one of the Big 4 firms and am interested in switching over to the client-serving side. Despite the salary, I don't think I would enjoy i-banking for a variety of reasons, but think accounting would be more in line with my interests and career goals. My questions is this: can anyone recommend a school in the NYC area or online that offers the accounting classes required to sit for the CPA? I took principles and managerial back in college, so I have quite a few to go. So far, I'm running into problems with schools that don't accept college graduates in their undergraduate courses and require accounting majors for courses in their graduate programs (ie. MACC programs). I would prefer to avoid an MBA in Acctg since I'd rather have more experience under my belt when I do the MBA in order to have a chance at the top schools. If anyone has experience with this, I'd appreciate your advise on where I can take these classes. Thanks!
