I just wanted to get a few opinions about my situation. I graduated with a degree in Economics and Political Science and I'm thinking about getting my masters in accounting. My undergrad school, University of Illinois at Chicago, has a top 30 graduate accounting program and the nice thing is I wouldn't have to take the GMAT b/c my gpa is high enough and as an undergrad of that school, they have that kind of loophole. Basically my question is do firms, particularly the Big 4, look favorably upon people who have undergrad degrees in subjects other than accounting or would the fact that I don't have a BS in accounting be a liability? I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a 3.76 so my academic record is pretty good, but I really have no idea how appealing I would look to a Big 4 firm. Thanks everyone.
