are you located? True, accounting will help you on the CFA. However, it probably will help only on level 1. By the time you reach two and three, you need to look into stuff like econ (yuk!) and straight finance. A CFA will be much more in demand for thigs such as equity research, hedge funds, investment banking, and related fun. As the guy before me said, try accounting out and see. Start with the fundamental accounting equation (memorize it!) and keep going. |

I'm in the metro Detroit area. Not exactly the best location for finance jobs so I'm open to relocation if the right job comes along.
When you took your accounting classes, did you take them full-time or part-time? Since I'm between jobs and hiring tends to slow down between now and fall, I'm thinking about doing accounting and CFA full-time simultaneously. Is this doable or will I burn myself out in no time?
