You won't go wrong with either. It will come down to gut reaction, however, do yourself a favor and request to meet some of the managers and seniors you may be working with in your group. The people you work with will make the biggest impact on your overall experience. Ask yourself if you believe the people will be supportive to your overall professional growth. If they lack the people skills that could be a negative sign. Some will.
Also when you get a chance ask some PWC and Deloitte alums about their experience. They will be more candid in their response. You can find them at CPA society events.
From what I understand PWC does however have a more extensive diversity program if that's of any interest. And that's coming from a Deloitte alum that enjoyed his six years tenure. |

Your advise couldn't have been stated any better. I just interviewed at PWC and the diversity thing really stood out; the place looked like the United Nations! On the other hand, although I hit it off with a manager and two partners, I probably did not make the cut (today is the last day for a phone call) due to a second manager who interviewed me. The young lady (I'm switching careers) was stone cold and obviously did not click with me. Although I was completely enthusiastic with everyone, I could not help but surrender to the fact that, no matter what I said, the young lady and I were not going to tango. I think that made all the difference.
Since little details matter, I was struck by the way the lady gave me her card immediately without me even asking. I will be sure to post on the PWC boards many of the questions I received. I hope Deloitte takes me at this point, with two Master's degrees and close to CPA eligibility. More importantly, though, I hope they and I will have the chemistry to mambo!
DG, so you are saying that managers can be that way, with little or no people skills?
