..outside public accounting. An MBA shows the employer that you have managerial level education across all areas of business. A MACC just shows that you can read and interpret FASBs. |

...but where I'm at, the MAcc and the MBA overlap in half the classes.
MAcc students typically take the MBA core in most programs, and choose numerous electives, such as Corporate Finance, Derivatives, Investments, etc. that are desirable.
Undergraduate programs often cover a lot of the business management courses that would make you valuable.
That said, I agree that if you want to get into corporate management positions, then an MBA has more credibility, and is loaded with more relevant classes.
But, "worthless?" Get real.
