The thread is on BW forums online. Since the link does not work, try searching for the title of the thread: Auditors for MBA. It is a fascinating (and very heated) discussion between a few auditors and a consultant about the role of auditors. The thread ends up giving a lot of credit to the audit profession, but not before covering the typical views of auditors that the "elite" business types in consulting and IB hold. I would love to paste it, but it would take hours, since it is not a single page of text. |

I'd love to read it! I just can't find it, even with those search terms.
Could you look at the initial thread and pull out an exact phrase for me that I can search with?
This is interesting to me, because I've never thought of Big 4 auditors as being clueless people, and I really don't buy the arguments from IB types who think they're doing something that a well-trained accountant couldn't figure out pretty quickly.
But, now I know that there are a lot of IB'ers and analysts, etc., who have a bone to pick with the Big 4 guys/gals for whatever reason.
I'm totally interested in this argument, so if you can somehow get me to that thread on BW, I'd be happy to read it.
