"To get in with the Big 4, you need more than JUST a masters degree. If you have some other things that make them want you bad, then you're set."
All you really need is a pulse to get hired by the big four. I don't understand all these posts that treat the big four like is an exclusive club thats tough to get into (ie. McKinsey). As long as you have the requisite educational background (ie. accounting), then the big four will hire you. Their hiring standards are low right now. You will not be working with a group of ultra-smart or driven people at the big four. Many of them will barely understand what they are doing.

Cbone,
You sound a little bitter there. Did you not get that second interview with your local Big4?
Oh wait, you're with McKinsey, and you like to come onto these boards and remind others that the Big 4 aren't elite...McKinsey's elite!
And, you like to remind people that if they get in with a Big 4 firm, it means they're monkeys who've taken a couple accounting classes and don't know jack. And, you wouldn't want us monkeys thinking we'll be surrounded by ultra-bright people either, since YOU know better: all the really bright people go with McKinsey.
Hey wait, YOU'RE in with McKinsey too, which makes you not only ELITE, but also ULTRA-BRIGHT!
Way to demean others in order to give yourself a hearty pat on the back, just for being YOU.
You know what I think? I think you're jealous. I know, you'll fight it and call me a monkey who doesn't know anything, and who didn't get in with the IBs like brilliant you.
But, it's fairly simple really: why else would you come into a room full of people talking about their future with the Big4, just to let them all know what worthless, mediocre losers they are?
Jealousy, my friend...jealousy.
