In Reply To: Hi, I needed some advise, I am currently in school majoring in Electrical Engineering, with a minor in IST. Also I have taken lot of business classes. I was looking at some IT Audit opportunities , which really sounds interesting and fun to me. Therefore, I registered for the CISA exam. What are my chances of getting an entry-level IT Audit job? Will my engineering degree will be a big drawback in getting into IT Audit? Any advise will be helpful, thanks
Message: I have some graduate friends who started as IT auditor in big 4. But all of them are not hard core technology people. They were accounting or business majors who finished 1 year MS AIS program. I think that you may search for those programs. If you do not have enough time for another degree, I think taking a few accounting courses like intermediate, cost/managerial accounting will help you.
