for the previous accounting posts to my question. I am going to be an internship in audit. I was wondering, If i am given a offer for audit.
Can I ask them to put me in Financial Advisory Services (FAS)instead of Audit after I get my offer? Will this be a major problem? Please advice
or Can I transfer to FAS from auditing( full time job) please advice |

If I were you I don't think I would go into your audit internship looking for something else. Do your job well, work hard, learn alot, and impress people while doing it. If they like you afterwards they will extend a full time audit position. If I were in your position I would stick it out in audit for a year or so and then see if you can get a transfer into advisory. I know most firms do try to accomodate their top performers and will bend over backwards to keep you from leaving the firm. So getting a transfer from audit to advisory is very feasible, but there may be some office politics involved.
Either way audit is a great experience, especially now with the additional work brought about by SOX.
Best of luck, I apologize I cant give you a more definitive answer.
