I read that all of you saying about the GPA and I have one question. I have my first degree with the GPA of 3.69 but I put on my resume that GPA is 3.7
Is it a misrepresentation?
I just rounded it... Oh, well...( I think that I screw up again. I am not used to a three digit format for my GPA. I also put my degree as applied mathematics and computer science, but one of the evaluation services evaluated it as applied mathematics and another did evaluate the same transcripts as computer science for my husband. And, in my understanding, we studied mixed of both. I can evaluate as one more Master degree in Computer science but I do not want to, because some recruiters look suspicious enough on my one master degree and I do not want to give them a shock when they see that I am getting my third Master's.
I think I messed up again; I should not have put Computer Science in my resume. Now they will think that I am lying. I upgraded my GPA on 0.01 point and I qualified my degree...((((
And I have another question. I have my first work experience in Russia and it was mostly IT and Inventory management related. Will Big4 call my referents? I provided one guy, because I don't know anything about other people from the firm and the firm doesn't exist anymore anyway. It was more then 4 years back. The guy that I ask to give me references knows English a little bit, but I am not sure he can talk on the phone. All other people who I know in connection to references in Russia, including some professors, don't talk English at all.
Therefore, my souses are not totally reliable. How they can be reliable for the Big 4 if they won't even understand the questions that they are asked?
I have couple people who can give me references in U.S.A.
However, I did not work here; I just did some volunteering for IT company as Quality Assurance personal, because I did not have a permission to work.
Some college professor can give references too.
How crucial the lack of reliable referents is?
On the other hand, they don't like me anyway...))))) |

vam ne nuzhen bespokoitsya o tom shto GPA bila iskazana na .01 ochkov, po moemy. Drugie "oshibki" - da, mozhet bit.
Sorry, my Russian is really hurting these days. I lived there for a couple years, but I have been back in the USA for almost 3 years, and haven't used it much.
I wouldn't worry about the GPA thing, but I would try to figure out exactly what your degree is and stick to the most fitting title. Don't they give it a name in Russia? What was the name of your major?
I'm not sure about the references. I would think that the Big4 would be understanding of the language barriers. Actually, if they really wanted the references, some (if not all) of them have offices in Moscow and Peter. I assume they could have Russian speakers in those offices do the checks.
Udachi. Zhelayu vam uspekha!!
Esli u vas bolee voprosi, to ya postarayus otvetit na nikh.
